PJSC Yenakiieve Steel and Makiivka Branch, Metinvest Group, specialists participated in All Ukraine campaign “Let’s make Ukraine clean!” About 250 voluntary steelworkers came out to clean the designated areas from garbage, dead trees, arrange the grass lawns and roads. As the result of this campaign nearly 100t of dead trees, scrubs and household garbage have been removed.
The cleaning toolkit of each team comprised of shovels, rakes, brushes, saws, axes and garbage bags. The volunteers received the outfit – T-shirts with campaign logo and gloves. The Works allocated dump cars and lift trucks, which were quickly removing the collected garbage.
In Yenakievo the volunteers formed three teams during the campaign preparation stage; each team received the scope of cleaning works in the park near “Metallurg” stadium – favorite leisure area of our employees. Blast Furnace Shop team effectively fulfilled all the tasks, so they became “Top Speed” team. Railway Administration team got “Top Coordination” status for the effective organization of their work. All-Works team, consisting of the specialists from Rolling Shop, Maintenance Department, BOF Shop, Constructors and Energy Administration representatives, got “Top Performance” status, because they gathered the highest amount of garbage from their area. Heads of Shops, workers and the other employees of different Shops and Administrations were members of different teams. “Currently we are trying to help not only to our State, first and foremost, we help ourselves, - shared his impressions Alexander Litvin, Head of Rolling Shop. – While removing this garbage I don’t only realize my civil duty, but also lighten my soul”.
Makiivka Branch specialists came out to clean Chudskaya street and Kirov square. Throughout 2 hours 140 volunteers gathered the garbage along 3 km distance, border stones have been whitewashed, one and half km of grass lawns have been cleaned from leaves and scrubs. Alexander Chudnovets, PJSC Yenakiieve Steel Makiivka Branch Director, worked on equal terms with his subordinates. “All employees of our Branch enthusiastically supported Metinvest campaign and came out to clean their town. Participation in such campaigns provides double benefit– we make our town cleaner and our staff become more team-oriented”, - admitted Alexander Nikolaevich.

PJSC Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Works comprised of Yenakiieve Steel and its Makiivka Branch, is a world leader in commercial billet production. The company produces cast billet, bar products and various section rolled products (beams, channels, angles, etc.) as well. Yenakiieve Steel production performance for 2011are as follows: 1.9 mln. tones of hot sinter, 2.3 mln. tones HM, 2.7 mln. tones of liquid steel, 2.6 mln. tones of rolled product. In 2012 BF No.3 was acknowledged as the best industrial facility in Ukraine according to the competition by Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine.
For the second time Yenakiieve Steel implements, in Yenakiievo and Makiivka, which are towns of presence, the social programme “We improve our town with our own hands”. The allocated funds exceeded UAH 500 th. for 2011-2012. In 2012 Yenakiieve Steel management and local authorities signed “Town-Works” social and economic development agreement, aimed to create comfortable living conditions for citizens.
