Yenakiieve Steel, Metinvest Group, announced the corporate programme “We Improve Our Town with Our Own Hands” launching for 2013. A competition for the Best Social Project will be carried out under this programme. Following the results the most innovative and creative projects prepared by public organizations, municipal authorities and local communities of Yenakiievo will be funded. This year the competition budget amounts to UAH 350 th.
This competition aims to involve citizens into process of development and implementation of those projects which will help to work out innovative approaches for solving social problems and improving comfort living conditions in Yenakiievo.
The Expert Council will assess projects according to the following criteria: relevance and feasibility of the project; well-defined and clear stated issues; compliance with the priority orientation of the competition; the level of project concept development; project singularity; social significance of the problem covered by the project, etc.
The winners will get financing for their projects realisation. The sum provided for implementation of each winning project would amount up to UAH 50 000. The peculiarity of 2013 competition is that the applicants must contribute at least 10% of the amount requested. That includes both non-financial assets, such as human resources, voluntary personnel, transport services, leasing, consulting services and others, as well as financial assets provided by applicants and / or their partners.
Trainings on Social Project Planning and Project Management, provided for applicants, will considerably upgrade the current programme. This innovation will allow improving the quality and the way of the winning projects realization, as well as fostering of the project planning culture within nonprofit sector of the town.

Competition for the Best Social Project among public organizations, municipal authorities and local community is carried out under Social Corporate Programme “We Improve Our Town with Our Own Hands”. The programme aims to develop social activity of the local community and to promote implementation of the vital projects which allow improvement of the social environment in METINVEST presence regions.
In 2011 the pilot programme was implemented in two towns and for the last year was carried out in three regions of Ukraine already. They are: Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Lughansk regions. There were 297 applications submitted for 2012 competition. The Company has allocated UAH 3.5 mln. to finance 61 projects. The implemented projects include creation of Water Park in Yelenovka residential area (Yenakiievo), advanced modernization of children playground in Leporckiy Park in Mariupol, modern sport- and plygrounds arrangement in Kryviy Rih, Krasnodon and Avdiivka, Ecopath in Charzizsk and plenty of other socially important initiatives.
