Metinvest systematically carries out activities aimed at Yenakiievo Healthcare System improving. The company has allocated about UAH 200,000 for the CT scanner repair at Town Hospital No.2 of Yenakiievo under “Town - Works” agreement, signed by Yenakiievo Municipal Council and PJSC Yenakiieve Steel. This is the second stage of funding Yenakiievo healthcare establishments according to the social agreement for the last six months.
Over six month «General Electric Citуmax 640» CT scanner (USA) was out of operation in Municipal Medical and Preventative Institution “Town hospital No.2”. An expensive «X-ray Tube Serial №36630-R2» has broken down. The hospital had no means to purchase this key part of the unit which was available only in Germany. All the patients from Yenakiievo, Zhdanovka, Kirovskoye and neighboring residential settlements had to go for examination in the regional centre.
“Poor funding of our Health Care doesn’t allow us to plug even the smallest gaps of medical establishments. Breakdown of the only CT scanner available in Yenakiieve, is akin to disaster for our hospital, - complains Ivan Kolesnikov, Chief Doctor of Municipal Medical and Preventative Institution “Town hospital No.2”. – We can’t rely on governmental grants. As for municipal authorities, there is no trace of so much money at all. We are grateful to Yenakiieve Steel management who supports us and finds opportunities to solve critical problems of our hospital. Nowadays about 2,500 citizens can be examined again at their place of residence and they don’t need to cover 60 km to get to Donetsk hospitals.”
It should be mentioned that a few years ago Yenakiieve Steel allocated money to purchase “General Electric Citуmax 640” CT scanner. The unit is equipped with “GE” digital system which allows scanning of almost all human internals. It shows the anatomic picture of any organ at each scanning level that enables a doctor to make more precise diagnosis of the diseases. The final images are further studied by radiologist and recorded to the database. Patients receive an interpreted film.
“Since signing a social agreement with municipal authorities of Yenakiieve we have already managed to implement several activities, aimed at supporting Education and Health Care, - highlighted Alexander Podkorytov, General Director of PJSC Yenakiieve Steel. – Metinvest is planning further promotion of positive living environment and health conditions. A number of social investment programs will be funded till the end of the year. In addition, Metinvest, together with municipal authorities and community of the town, started the procedure of social budgeting for 2013, to assure a comprehensive approach in solving high-priority tasks of Yenakiieve social sector.”
It should be recalled that this year Metinvest earmarked the means amounted to UAH 100,000 for repair X-ray unit at Municipal Medical and Preventative Institution “Town hospital No.2”.
