Yenakiieve Steel, Metinvest Group, and town youth centre “7ya” (Family), local non-profit organisation opened the first children water park called “Limpopo” in Yenakiievo. This project is implemented within the framework of social programme “We improve our town with our own hands”-2012. Funds, earmarked for improving entertainment centre by Metinvest, amounted to UAH 50K.
“Limpopo”, children’s water park, is located in Yelenovka village (Yenakiievo) at the area abutted to the family entertainment centre. Seven bright inflatable multifunctional slides of different design are installed at the improved site with the area of 1600 sqm. Project’s initiators argue that during the summer time slides are filled with the filtered water and in winter time water park “becomes dry”; slides to be used as bouncy facilities, which will be relocated to the “Ukraine” cinema building (Yenakiievo), where the special room is already arranged for this purpose.
«“Limpopo” will be available for the children all year round, - noted Aleksandr Yatsunenko, representative of “7ya”, local NPO. – To make this entertainment centre more popular and attractive, we plan to hold the games with prizes awarding, show cartoons in our cinema and build a café for children. Next year we are going to expand water park infrastructure and additionally construct a modern swimming pool and showers. Now we know that thanks to Metinvest our dream can soon become true».
For one run 35 children can enjoy staying in “Limpopo” free of charge. Representatives of “7ya”, local NPO, will monitor safety during entertaining activities.
«Step by step Metinvest together with Yenakiieve citizens are implementing project-winners of the contest “We improve our town with our own hands”, -- pointed out Aleksandr Podkorytov, General Director of PJSC Yenakiieve Steel. – Owing to such smooth cooperation new social objects appear one after another in our town. They bring joy and happiness to the locals. I am sure that such-like practice will become the traditional one and next year far more people will participate in this contest and projects will be more diversified».
It worth reminding that 5 projects won the contest “We improve our town with our own hands”: building Art Minipark abutting to Chaykovsky Art School; arranging mobile children’s water park in Yelenovka village; making new children playground in Vatutina housing complex; replacing windows in the “Topolyek” (Poplar), kindergarten; and opening children development club based on unique teaching methodology of Mariya Montessory. In 2012 overall budget totaled to UAH 350K.
