Metinvest kitted out Yenkiieve and Makiivka children for school

23 August 2012

An initiative “Kit out the children for school” has launched at Yenakiieve Steel, Metinvest Group. Within this activity approximately 400 little Yenakiieve and Makiivka citizens will get school kits. These events are related to “Town-Works” agreements, signed between Yenakiieve Steel and local authorities of Yenakiievo and Makiivka this year. Total budget of the initiative accounted for circa UAH 208K.

More than 250 to-be-first-graders, whose parents work at Yenakiieve Steel and Makiivka branch, will be presented with school kits with the Group’s logo. These school kits are school bags with orthotic inserts, equipped with all stationeries required. Colours of small school bags ornamented with school symbols were chosen given children’s age and gender.

Moreover, pupils of 1-4 grades from vulnerable social groups of Yenakiieve and Makiivka population will receive 100 school kits with Group’s logo.  Children from the families suffered from the fire at 8 Braylyana street (Yenakiievo) won’t be stayed behind; they are to be presented with span new bags as well.

«Metinvest restores heart-warming traditions, -  noted Aleksandr Podkorytov, General Director of PJSC Yenakiieve Steel. – The present from the biggest mining and steel company will be a pleasant surprise for children and substantial support in kiting out the small children for school for parents. For us it is of vital importance, that every employee of the Works knows his/her home enterprise takes care of him/her. And citizens, being in tough real-life situations, are to be sure that they can secure aid from our enterprise».

It should be reminded that the initiative “Kit out the children for school” is held at Yenakiieve Steel for the third time in a row. Previously children from large and needy families only, being recommended by the Red Cross, Yenakiieve town organization, took part in this activity. This year it was decided to push the envelope of the initiative by providing to-be-first-graders of PJSC Yenakiieve Steel and 30 foster children of Prolisok, children’s home (Makiivka), with school kits.
