Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Works, Metinvest Group, organised the environmental event, implementing “Town – Works” agreement according to the plan. In the framework of the event green planting areas were arranged in several districts of Yenakiievo and Uglegorsk at a time (in total about 600 trees amounting to UAH 60 000 were planted). The Green Squad consisted of Yenakiieve Steel management and Yenakiievo Municipal Council authorities, representatives of public organisations, teachers, students and schoolchildren.
A neglected alley close to the school No.1 was chosen as the main environmental event object. Yenakiieve Steel workers and citizens together with the students of Yenakiieve Metallurgical Technical College and Secondary Metallurgical Vocational and Technical School, pupils and teachers of Educational Establishment No.1 bedded out 300 plants, namely Catalpa and Niedzwetzky apple-trees. All the participants unanimously called this new green area as a Partnership Alley.
Under this event such green areas arose in Gornyak and Bulavinskoye residential settlements, and also in Uglegorsk, — next to the asylum for children with congenital diseases. Moreover, 42 trees and 3 500 petunias were planted at the nearby Works' public garden.
«About a month ago Works Management and Yenakiievo Municipal Council signed the partnership agreement with one of the provision to create a comfortable living environment for citizens of Yenakiievo, — addressed Dmitriy Litvinov, Yenakiieve Steel Director for Planning and Logistics, City Council Deputy, at the opening speech to the participants of the event. — Today we set an outstanding pattern of the partnership model — the representatives of business, authorities and community work in cooperation to create a place, which will benefit and give joy to all the citizens."
