Yenakiieve Steel, Metinvest Group, opened solemnly a health unit which is now situated in the overhauled premises fitted with brand new medical equipment and furniture. This activity was carried out within the framework of the Agreement on social and economic partnership “Town-Works”. Project investments amounted to approximately UAH 700 th.
Health unit No.6 was relocated into the other Works’ building where major overhaul has been completed recently. Now this unit occupies the whole wing of the building with total area of 150 m2 which is more than threefold compared to the former size of the health unit. Here one can find spacious rooms for patients which are fitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment and tools, and new furniture. Furthermore there is a hygiene room and two WCs for visitors with hot water supply.
The health unit was extended not only to provide medical staff and Works’ employees with comfort conditions, but to expand services scope. To render emergency medical services for the Works’ employees, Yenakiieve Steel purchased mobilisation kits for the medical assistant enabling him or her to help injured persons, if their condition getting worth, in a quick and professional way. Also health unit’s personnel can perform drug treatment upon the doctor’s prescriptions (intramuscular and intravenous injections). Moreover soon it is planned to arrange field receptions of specialists from Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Gorkiy State Medical University, Donetsk, at the Works’ health unit. For this purpose there is a separate office of the gynecologist fitted with all required equipment in the health unit.

One of the trends of our cooperation is arrangement of the Works’ health units which are perfectly equipped on Yenakiieve Steel funds. Therefore our medical staff can literally feel the pulse of the enterprise».
It should be reminded that there are six health units at Yenakiieve Steel which treat approximately 7 thousand employees of the Works and almost one thousand contractors who work at the site as well. Medical offices located throughout the Works are subdivisions of Municipal Medical and Preventative Institution “Town hospital No.2 of Yenakiievo” which Yenakiieve Steel works with on a permanent contract basis. The Company provides for repair and maintenance of the health units’ premises, transfers funds for medical staff services payment, purchases standard kits of medical equipment and tools, fits with new equipment. The Works’ ambulance is assigned to the health units.
